April Magistical Memories

and a quick invitation to come over to the Magistical Memories blog on National Scrapbook Day weekend...May 2 and 3. We have lots of fun chipboard to give away over there!

I've been so preoccupied with work these past few months that my scrapping has been sadly neglected. I started to feel guilty for that, but then remembered that this hobby is supposed to make me feel good, and that it's something I really enjoy. I did need to lighten my load a little, so I'm sad to tell you all that I've resigned from my DT commitment at Scrapping the Music. I still love the inspiration music gives me to scrap, so you can bet I'll be popping over there every chance I get! And I will miss all of my lovely DT friends over there...such a wonderful support system!

It's been sunny and bright here for the past few days, but so windy that I didn't want to get out there. Today is different...sunny, no wind, supposed to warm up to the mid 80's...I think I might need to grab a book and sit by the pool this afternoon after I get my chores done! TaTa for now...

Oh GEEZ! I've done it again!

I really do have a hard time doing this blogger thing. I was never great at keeping a diary either...just feel like I'm too boring to have anything interesting to say! I'm not interested in reading a diary I wrote 10 years ago if it's boring, so why would anyone want to read a boring blog?

This is my latest layout...for the Scrapping the Music Challenge this week...White Horse by Taylor Swift is such a beautiful song, and I had so many great ideas for it, but I've wasted a whole lot of scrapbook pages on my dd's ex-boyfriend (who still likes to play games with her mind a little) that I ended up doing a page about Little Miss Chloe Karesa by default. This kid has everyone who meets her wrapped around her little finger in a matter of moments...such a little charmer!

I've been running in high gear since I started my new job last month! Hours and hours of training have paid off, and the Sephora inside JCPenney is doing really well! We have been successful enough to make bonuses both months that we've been open already, so that's pretty sweet come payday!!!!

One thing I haven't had much time for is scrapbooking. I'm so used to doing about a layout a day that this is very frustrating for me! I'm hoping to find some sort of happy medium between seven pages a week and a few, so we'll see how it goes

The layouts I'm sharing here, were March's DT assignments for Magistical Memories...I have so much fun playing with their chipboard! Lots of things you can do with it...paint it, glimmer mist the heck out of it, leave it bare or doodle on it...it just makes a great contrast from the flat of a page, or a great base for a cluster!

Jess is home on Spring Break this week...with four bags full of dirty laundry. I'm working most of the week and mentioned to her that she might want to reacquaint herself with the washing machine if she wants it to get done. Her exact words? "Mom, you know I could do that, but when I come home I like to be taken care of...nobody takes care of me like you do when I'm away at school!" Do you think she got the guilt gene from me?

Guess who's doing laundry this week? '-)

Magistical Memories Projects!

I LOVE being on the DT at Magistical Memories...they have so many fun and usable shapes, from small pieces to embellish a layout to amazing chipboard mini albums! Here are a few of my projects for this month! The Crazy Need for Speed was made for their February contest...journal about a passion! Go check out the contest here:

I've started my new job...at Sephora inside JCPenney's. The store is being built about a mile from my house, and when I heard they were going to have a Sephora inside it called out to me to come work there! Luckily for me, the management thought it was a good idea too! I started with orientation and such last week. Tomorrow is the big day...MERCHANDISE arrives!! I hope I can not be a total dork about all of the fun makeup products that I love...and I KNOW I shouldn't drool anywhere near the testers we'll be making...I think there are health violations to worry about there! Just suffice it to say, I will be in heaven for the next week, as we meticulously and lovingly get that whole store stocked and ready for customers! The long hours are kicking my ass, but I'm thinking I'll get used to that soon! It's tough going from a SAHM mom of 20 years who happens to teach a fitness class for an hour a day to working seven or eight hours straight, but the stuff I'm learning is really exciting to me! I can't wait to talk about something besides how awesome my kids and nieces are for a change, LOL

If you haven't checked out the challenge at Scrapping the Music this week, get your hiney over there and do it...it's a great song!

A Quickie

Because I'm sick and can't think of anything to amuse you right now. But I really wanted to share my layouts for my CT reveal over at A Cherry On Top with you because the October Afternoon stuff TOTALLY rocks!

The one of these things that is not like the other is my layout for Scrapping the Music this week...Pictures of You by The Last Goodnight is the song...come play along!

YIKES...I nearly forgot SCRAPPING THE MUSIC!

We have awesome new additions to our Design Team over there and a great guest designer in Zoe. Welcome Julie, Mandy and Donna...can't wait to work with you ladies. Come check out this week's challenge at Scrapping the Music!
hehehe...does anyone else find it a bit ironic that my word for 2009 is COMMIT and I can't even commit to getting my blog updated? I REALLY need to focus on this word...there are alot of things that are passing me by because I want to do them, but don't commit to doing them. This is the year that that changes! This wallhanging is here to remind me...I think it's going on the bathroom mirror so I can see it daily!
Lots of news happening over at Magistical Memories too...the wallhanging is my interpretation of their January challenge...go check it out!
And here are a few more items I've been working on with Magistical's chipboard. There are so many scrappy things you can do with this chipboard, and it makes for such a fun embellishment! I did the IMAGE layout for the Amp It Up Challenge that I run over at A Cherry on Top...this one was a recipe challenge, and I've used a PageMaps sketch for it.

Was my mom a hottie or what???? This is her at 19, shortly after she made the brave move to the big city. She got on a bus right after high school with one of her best friends and moved to San Francisco...what a wild woman!
